Hello, my dell inspirion 531 card expired and i was looking for another one. However i'm somewhat restricted as my powel supply is only 300 watts. and the nvidia gt210 is seemingly the only card that will be compatible. Or thats what i've found. Can anyone tell me otherwise. THe only game i play in Battlefield 2.
You are fine with the dell power supply, the G 210 will only take about 200 Watts of power including the other components on the dell PC approximately. I think it's OK to stay with your old Power Supply, unless it has some issues.
nvidia gt 220 will be a lot better and still work with your 300watt psu. I used a gt 210 in an htpc and it was a sad little card, could barely manage blu ray playback.

12v rail is all that matters on a PSU for a GPU and I've seen people run a 6570 on a 250w Dell PSU. So if his 12v rail is above 20 or so it would be fine.
If he wants to be real safe he could buy a nice Antec Earthwatts or High Current Gamer for cheap and really open his possibilites. Or get a 6450 which would outperform a 210.

How would a 6570 work on a 300 watt psu when it requires a minimum of a 400 watt?
A 6770 can run on 400watt psu when it requires a 450watt. It is fact when you are using a powerful cpu or other component that require high power. Minimum psu requirement of gpu is based on core-i7 cpu. So you always dont need recommended psu if you dont have a powerful cpu.
