Hello,

I'm not sure but I might have bought the wrong psu for my Dell Studio xps 435mt. The connections don't look right. I bought a thermaltake purepower 2.0 350 watts. Probably have to take it back. Can someone suggest what to buy. That will fit in the case and doesn't cost alot. I have a family member that plays games on line. Looks like I am going to have to start to upgrade here. The psu died after 3 years of having this computer. Thanks

Any std ATX power supply should work for your Dell desktop PC. I'm assuming it is a full size desktop and not a slimline. Back in the old Pentium 4 days, Dell used to use non-standard PSUs. But they have long since gone to std PSUs. What is it that doesn't look right to you for the connections?

If you end up returning the thermaltake and are looking for a good reliable power supply then one of the two listed here would be a good choice.
I'm not sure why you feel you bought the wrong psu but if you could explain more then maybe we can help you figure it out.

Antec VP-450 450W ATX 12V v2.3 Power Supply
$37.99

SeaSonic SS-350ET Bronze 350W ATX12V V2.31 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - OEM
$44.99

You can get powr supplies at lower prices and even some for $19.99 but then you have to ask yourself " do you really want a power supply that costs $20?" The two listed here are from good quality companies and the SeaSonic is a Bronze certified power supply which means that it's guarenteed to give 80% efficiency. If you don't see any type of certification then the psu is not guarenteed to give a minimum 80% efficiency.
