hey everyone i stumbled upon a Gigabyt gtx 560 ti fermi for 199.99 (1 gb) i thought about buying it but then i saw a gtx 550 ti fermi 1gb for 134.96. up until now the cheapest place i could find a 560 ti (i dont know what fermi even means) was well over $200. i guess what i'm asking is has anyone had dealings with 3Btech.com? any thoughts about'em? criticism? praises?

i really want to go nVidia this time around, but it is realy hard not to get the hd 6870 1gb for $165. any thoughts on this as well i want a card under $200 that will play skyrim and borderlands, and stuff like that. ( i understand that for under 200 bucks means unplayable at high res but i only have a 1366 x 768 sanyo 26" lcd right now anyways. (dvi or hdmi out)

also, ya think going for a 560 ti will mean going for a more powerful psu? i only need 1 cd/rw drive, 1 hdd, and maybe later a blue ray player. so i think 650w from corsair should suit me. (oh, and i will use only one gpu at least for a few months)

plans:
phenom ii x4 black @ 3.0
8 gig corsair pc 1600 (btw, is pc1366 better for gaming than pc1600?)
corsair tx 650w v2 psu
cooler master HAF 922m
ASrock extreme 870 am3+

ps. i am a fan of VIDEO CARDS. i dont care if its green and black or red and black (although my case is red and black :) i'm looking for bang for buck here.

Skyrim is CPU-limited, so don't be too disappointed when you can't max it out with a Ti.

A $200 560 Ti is far from unheard of. If you sort by price on Newegg, the first two listings are $210/$190 and $218/$182 before/after their rebates. Those prices sound pretty normal to me. As such, just use Newegg, as it has good customer service. This one'd be good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401
...but this one'd be better. EVGA Superclocked, temporarily $215: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130610

A Corsair 650W will run two 560 Tis. The rest of your system is basically unimportant power-wise: you won't see much difference with different peripherals.

Fermi, by the way, is the name of the architecture of Nvidia's last two generations of cards (the 4- and 500 series). It's an inherent part of the card, not a feature.

I've used them before in the past, and never really had any real issues with them with the exception of 1 thing. I ordered a new motherboard for a friends computer, the website did not specify it was a brown box non retail motherboard. A quick email to them(the board was DOA) and after trying their suggestions I ended up sending it in for a refund. I did make sure to send another email suggesting they clearly label OEM/Refurb etc stuff as just that. They now(since a week or so after I talked with them) clearly label non-New/Retail items as such.

IF you can find a good deal from them, don't worry they are pretty trustworthy.

At 1366 x 768 a 560 Ti will max just about any game out there. I would use newegg. If something is wrong with your card their customer support and return department is unmatched. To me that is worth a few dollars extra although they are generally the cheapest place to buy anyway.

thanks guys. i am either gonna buy a hd 6870 or a 560 ti. the ti is about 35 dollars more (sapphire 6870 =$165 @ amazon), but i guess its more powerful, so that isnt a very big price difference. for 768 res, a 440 gt would probably work, but soon i intend on getting a good LED 1080p monitor.
