In the installation process, I get to "Connection Type, Select and option", and I choose "wireless network" rather than "USB connection";

At "select your printer, I find my HP Photosmat D110, and can see that the IP address and MAC addresses are both correct;

I click on "Next", and the screen advises me that we are "installing software";

After a while we end up back at the Connection Type screen, and now we're stuck in never never land. When I cancel this process the printer is not installed.

Any thoughts on how I can do this.

p.s. this printer has previously been installed on this computer and this wireless network. I started fiddling wioth it because the scanner wasn't working.

Thanks

You have to turn off antivirus and firewall before loading the software.
during the installation, you may see a blinking (flashing) icon in your task bar. You have to click the blinking icon, and then click :"allow installation"
The windows security may block the installation until you click "allow."
Also, if you have installed multiple security programs, they all have to be turned OFF to install the software.
After installing, restart the computer, and turn all the security back ON.

The security thinks that the new program is a virus, and is blocking it from installing.
