I recently built a new system and it has no os installed so i bought a win 7 64 home premium 64 bit oem disk, but a little over halfways done when the "Loading windows files..." it stops and gives me an error. It says windows encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer, this error can be caused by unplugging a storage device such as a hard drive or cd-rom drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and the restart your computer. If you continue to recieve this error msg, contact the hardware manufacturer.
Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: an unexpected i/o error has occured.

I tried setting the first boot device to dc rom and also disabling my hdd but that didnt work.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi :)

Its saying that it cannot shift the data..in other words either it cannot read FROM the cd drive anymore or it cannot read the Hard Drive to put the data on it....

Specs of the machine would help.....and was the HD and the cdrom NEW or not ?

All the best Brett :)
