Problem with adsl

Hello,
I am finding it difficult to get inside the adsl router. My adsl router IP is 172.17.23.1 and I cannot get inside the router with web browser. Plz help me out.

what is the make and model?

Are you typing http://172.17.23.1 it will prompt for name and password if not it is not the address.
make sure address is correct.
