I am Currently using a E6850 with 4gb DDR2 800Mhz With a 6850 2GB.I am looking for a new rig and have my specs thought up like

1.i5 3570K/3770K CPU
2.Windforece Gtx 670 OC
3.8Gb G skill Ripjaws 1600

I am learning Cryengine,Unreal Engine,Do a bit of Video editing and such.I will also have a lot of Virtual machines(up to 6 at a time) running on the background.

A friend suggested me to go for a non K 3770 and 16GB RAM.

My Current system gets a kick in the nuts when the VMs are working.I am looking to avoid that at all costs. Will the i5 be enough?

Although i once took my 6850 to 3.8 in air,I have no interest whatsoever in overlocking.SO is a "K" CPU worth it If i don't OC?

If you're not going to OC then it makes little sense buying a K CPU. Your friends suggestion will serve you well and you will notice a BIG difference from your current E6850 to...any Ivy Bridge really. Even a Sandy Bridge will be a noticeable upgrade but if you can afford it then get an IB

I am Currently employed a a developer for the .Net 4 platform specializing in c#.Video editing is a hobby, but testing under multiple work environments is a must.Thats why i thnk i need the 16GBs.

before you even thing about getting a ivy cpu you must read this firstwhy i say no ivy cpu's:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareuk.inc&cat=10&post=340000&page=1&p=1&sondage=0&owntopic=1&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0&quote_only=0&new=0&nojs=0

someone with the same cpu cooler with me NH-D14 tryed something i asked him to, member of Tom's hardware, the test terminated at 10 minuites! i udate the data above trying to explain what happen.

don't ever try hard load to the ivy cpu's cores!!
