get a weaker cpu and spend it on a better gpu if you want to max games.

at $200 you are looking at the 6870 which will give you high settings.

Nvidia GTX 550 TI. It will run most games close at high at lower resolutions

while the 560 ti is a great card, its not even close to 35% better than the 6870 that I linked (the price is about 35% higher on the 560ti). SO if you can afford it and want the power, sure, but the 6870 is a better value.

no x3 that card wouldn't be good even an gtx 460 is better then that card and hd 6870 is more better then gtx 460 so think it will perform 20% less then hd 6870 so that wouldn't be an good recommendation.

hd 6870 or gtx 560 will be good at that price range but in my opinion i will go for an hd 6870 instead of gtx 560 because it performs more better then gtx 560 in many things.hd 6870 will be the best choice for performance and price.:)

In Battlefield 3, the 560Ti performs close to the 6950:

Yes if you keep adding money you can get better and better. I still hold that a 6870 is the best value for his dollar. If you can wait a 2 months or so you can buy a new 7850 for $200, which should be terrific (a faster 6950 that uses half the power).

An even better idea!

I would take a better cpu over a more expensive card in this situation.

6870 or gtx460/560

as long as you aren't dropping to the 550 ti which is a huge drop in performance for very little money gain.

It's a refurbished card but it is a 560Ti for under $200 and according to this graphics chart the 560Ti is on the same level as the 6950 and is one level up from the 6870 and two levels up from the 6850.
