Wireless driver doesn't work? :S

My friend told me to fix her laptop. Simple. Just had to remove a program that was causing problems. But I had to fix another problem. The wireless didn't work. So, I went to the HP site and got the driver. Still, didn't work. So, I researched and read that it might be because it's a Windows Vista drive and the OS on the laptop is Windows 7. I get this error: "This device cannot start (Code 10)" in Device Manager.

The laptop is HP Pavilion dv6247cl. Anyone help?

under device manager go to the wifi card that the drivers not working right. under the hardware for that device...there be a tab button under the device driver that says hardware ids. to get to it right click on the device and it
under the propertys..device id. it give you a long string of letters and numbers that the hardware id for the device..google that and you find out the name of the wifi card in the laptop..the go to the vendor web page and download the newest window 7 drivers. if not here the three updated drivers for wifi cards that were listed on hp web page for that notebook.

make sure the device is enabled in windows and turned on in the bios.
  2. It's a broadcom device and I already updated the drivers. Still no luck.
  3. Anyone?
  4. If thats one of the dv6000 with the nic on/off switch next to the volume control I've seen where that switch goes bad and you wont be able to turn the wireless on or off. And if its stuck in off - you wont be able to start the driver.

Make sure its ON and try and start the wireless again or reinstall the drivers before you work on the switch.
