Approximate Purchase Date: Very late April, early May. Probably not later than the second week of May.

Budget Range: $850 is a pretty solid ceiling. With rebates... well... if the rebates are reliable, then factor them in.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (BF3, CoD, Combat Arms, Skyrim), Video Editing, Internet.

Parts Not Required: HDD (Crucial 256GB SSD), monitor (1680x1050), keyboard, mouse, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Nothing. Microcenter is okay, but I'd rather not. It's like a 2 hour drive each way.

Country: I'm in Indiana, US. Preferably not China-made parts, but as long as it's reliable...

Parts Preferences: Quiet

Overclocking: Yes, but not 24/7

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050, may upgrade to 1080p later on.

Additional Comments: Quiet! Also, aesthetics mean next to nothing for me. I'm looking for it to last a while, as well (hence the 2GB GPU)

Hello,

So I've got this build fleshed out. I'm going to wait for IB, so if anyone knows of any good mobos that are cheap that come out along IB, go ahead and recommend! I'd like USB 3.0 on them.

Full build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6p3k

Individual parts (I'ved linked to newegg because it has specs. I'll buy using pcpartpicker to find the best deal):

CPU: i5-2500k (or the i5-3750k... whatever is the IB equivalent)

GPU: Radeon 7850 2GB MSI Twin Frozr OC

Mobo: Extreme4 Z77
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293&Tpk=extreme4%20z77

PSU:Antec 550W. Could anyone recommend a better PSU?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016

Case: Fractal R3 (I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS WORKS! WILL EVERYTHING FIT OKAY? IT'S GOT A DEAL THAT ENDS TODAY! CAN I BUY IT A MONTH AHEAD OF EVERYTHING ELSE?)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352013

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Plus

Memory: G.Skill 8GB DDR3-1600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231546&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Case fan (I will get one to put in front panel): Cougar 120mm

So I have a few questions:

1) Are all of the cables long enough?
2) How is the airflow?
3) I'm thinking of a 2-front-intake and 1 stock exhaust fan setup. Noise/temp levels okay?
4) Mobo... any nice Z77s?
5) Will the USB 3.0 in the I/O panel of the Fractal be able to connect to my motherboard's USB 3.0?
6) This will be on a carpet floor. What would you change? Carpet has more dust, so would the PSU be mounted to intake from inside the case?
7) Could anyone recommend a different but still budget PSU? I'm having trouble with that.

I'll probably update the questions with more, once I remember all of them :D

Thanks!

Would it really? Because the sound deadening foam and stuff is supposed to make it way quieter. I'm not pushing you away, I'm just surprised. How would that work? HAF cases are like... really airy.
