First time builder here. I am going to use this PC as gaming and gaming only. I want to be able to run all the new games at the highest settings and have allowed my budget as $1500-1700. I'll most likely go SLI in the future but for now just run the one card. I have to admit I am a blue case/asthetic type person so any tips/suggestions on making it look good as it runs would be welcome.
Processor: I5-2500k $220
PSU: Cooler master Power Supply 240-Pin 1200 Power Supply RSA00-AMBAJ3-US $180
RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Ripjaw Series (9-9-9-24) Dual Channel kit for Intel LGA1156/AM3 (Going to be buying 16 GB worth) $110
What I really need help on is the Motherboard for the gtx 680, and a good solid case.
Here's what I am thinking:
Mobo: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $120
Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition RC-932-KKN3-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case $150
Also any suggestions on a seperate cooler if I need it??
It all adds up to about $1400. I know I'm missing a few parts but I have everything else just need some help on the mobo and case.
case could be cheaper and work as well if you used the haf 922. mobo should be good, personally i like asrock and asus for motherboards. you could probably use savings from teh case (if you switch to the 922) and use it to get some more features on the motherboard.
oh, and you might want to overclock the 2500k, so there isnt any possibility of it bottlenecking the gpu (havent really looked so im not totally sure if it will bottleneck the 680 or not, but it will if you ever SLI)
If you can return that Agility 3 - I'd highly suggest doing so and getting a Crucial M4 instead - Sandforce drives like the Agility are known to have nothing but issues and problems.
I'd definitely suggest a different PSU - Cooler Master does not make the best PSUs. Try the PC Power & Cooling Silencer series - or the Corsair TX750. RAM is a good choice - G.Skill is definitely one of the top tier RAM manufacturers.
