More about works motherboard
  1. not u cant u have to upgrade ur motherboard
  2. Its better to upgrade, considering motherboards for that cpu are real cheap

How come? (Not questioning but I would like to hear why)
  4. I can't see why it wouldn't work, it somehow supports newer E0 stepping instructions (the mobo), the athlon is a cut down thuban, they are both 95W, they are both AM3, there is one difference- the voltages- the althon uses 0.825 - 1.400v and the phenom uses 0.975 - 1.425v.
  5. If the BIOS recognizes it, it should work.

like I said my bios recognized it the athlon ii am3 processor

tbh I'm probably just gonna upgrade my mobo and ram its only an extra 100 dollars or so
