I will be playing on a 1920x1080 monitor. Games like BF3, Metro 2033, crysis, LOL, skyrim, and diablo 3 ~~~ALL ON ULTRA QUALITY~~~

I was also wondering if 1.3GBs of VRAM (gtx 570) would be enough for games like BF3 and crysis because i heard people saying that those games need more than 1.5GBs of VRAM for 1080p gaming. So do you think its worth it buying the 2.5 GB version of the 570 for 50 dollars more?

some links to the cards im thinking of buying

gtx 570

gtx 570 2.5GB

Radeon hd 6970
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127581&Tpk=6970%20lightning

The GTX 570's also have a limited lifetime warranty as opposed to the hd 6970 which only has a 3 year warranty.

OR do you think i should wait for the 600 series Nvidias? When are they going to be released? would i get a good card for about 400 dollars?

BF3 requires about 1.5GB of VRAM to use Ultra textures/settings.

With AMD's cards looking really good so far I can only imagine what Nvidia's will be like.I would suggest waiting until the market wars start happening.Their is a rumored release date of sometime around April or May.

What are your full system specs.?(CPU,RAM,etc.)

will they release the 670 at the same time? idk if i want to spend over $600 on a video card

I also heard that EVGA has a step up program where you can upgrade your card within 90 days of purchase. I was thinking about doing this and just buying and using the 570 until they release the 670 but i'm worried that they might not be out in 90 days. Is this a good idea?

That doesn't seem likely at all.A GTX690 for $500?

Their still is no offical saying as to if Nvidia is going to go with the GTX600 series or the GTX700 series.

If the GTX680 is faster than the 7970 than expect the GTX680 to be around $500 and a GTX670 to be around $400.

I would just wait it out but if you do go with that EVGA setup up program you better be damn sure they will accept it in 90 days.

+1

For games like BF3 I would go with the 6970 over the 570

If the next series is anything like what AMD did, I agree. At newegg a 6970 is approx $350 and a 7970 is approx $550. BTW, the price at newegg for a 570 and 6970 are basically the same.

I absolute grantee Nvidia will charge at least $600 MSRP @ launch for there GTX 680 or whatever the 580 replacement will be and that the retailers will mark that price up by about another $50 bucks. They will do this and get away with it because they understand that there are a large sum of people that will pay almost anything to have the latest GPU shiny on lunch day. If we use the Internet like a good tool us consumers would band together in solidarity and boycott and force industry to lower pricing and higher quality standards hence this is why they are pushing SOPA and PIPA but that a bit off topic sorry.

Anyone paying attention to the rumors is aware that the GTX 680 is reported to be released at the end of February, is a mid-range card that is expected to beat a 7970 in performance, and will be priced at $299.

As compaired to AMD prices for there 7xxx series you would think for Nvidias best intrest they should launch with prices a bit lower than AMD.

They know that a lot of fanboys are waiting for there product and If they launch with a higher price than AMD well you do the math.

If they lauch the 680 to test the market at the prices they set, the rest will follow in line. But this is going to be very interesting to see what happen's. Who will win the war?
