Finally I came to a conclusion with this build. I am going AMD for sure.

My only concern is if I should get a 64 to 128 ssd instead and try and and incorporate this old dell hard drive in the meantime. Also, I have a macbook pro that I keep most of my media and school programs on. I will be using this machine for gaming.

Is it worth it to get a SSD or should I stick with the 500gb hard drive?

Thanks guys.

well aside from rebooting in seconds i can say the biggest benefit my ssd has brought me is... bf3 load times

with the most recent update, rounds start nearly as quickly as i load into the game. i am in game running around while 90 percent of the server is still loading the map. i get my first choice of vehicle everytime. to me, thats really something

not to mention load times in other games i barely see a loading screen. transitions in levels are smoother. no sitting around staring at loading screens
