Onboard vs onchip video

Well it depends on the onboard graphics but the i5 does not have good graphics, if you planning on gaming then the i5 would be an intsant failure.
 
HD 2000 right? It probably compares to slow cards like 5450 (though the HD 5450 is still faster somewhat). However we still see a better performance from old HD graphics from clarkdale. But, still it is crap... If you are looking for an integrated graphic solution, you can go look at AMD Fusion, which has at least an acceptable performance of integrated on-chip graphics. Even though the processor is not good. But the HD 2000 should be fine doing HTPC stuff, if you are gaming then stay away, either get an AMD fusion which you will lose the power of i5-2500 has, or get a discrete card, like HD 6570/6670.
