Hi,

I was wondering, if I were to play a game that uses Physx frequently throughout gameplay, or even occasionally here and there, would there be a difference in GRAPHICS DETAIL for PHYSX DETAIL using a DX10 over a DX11 card(or DX11 over a DX10 card)?

Example: Difference in graphics quality FOR PHYSX between a system using a GTX 570(DX11) for main graphics processing with a GTX 260(DX10) in Physx processing, and a system using a GTX 570(DX11) for main graphics processing with a GTX 550 Ti in Physx processing?

Best solution

As a dedicated PhysX card, the DX version means exactly nothing. The PhysX card takes care of nothing but running calculations - nothing to do with rendering. It's basically acting as a CPU.

You can still run your games in DX11 if the main rendering card(s) support that, even with a DX10 PhysX card.
