I grabbed an Asus P8Z77-V LE mobo a couple days ago to go with an ivy bridge i7 3770k CPU when they are released. I also grabbed 4x4gb G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series memory, but upon purchasing them I noticed that it says it's designed for Intel LGA 2011 processors and X79 platforms. Does this mean the memory won't be compatible with my mobo or CPU?

CPU: i7-3770K
MoBo: P8Z77-V LE
Memory: Ripjaws Z

Solution

It will be fine. It was "designed for the X79 platform" because X79 utilizes Quad channel memory, while P67/Z68/Z77 utilize dual channel memory. It will still work as dual channel as long as you populate all 4 slots on the Z77, so don't worry.
