Hello all

This is my first post on this forum. Just looking for some advice on a rig I'm putting together. I'm looking to upgrade to ivy bridge proc. when they come out, so I'll be using a i5-2500k for now as I cannot really wait. So here is the list of components. Let me know what you think!

-Corsair 550D Obsidian Case
-Asus MAXIMUS V GENE Z77 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard
-Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
-EVGA GeForce GTX 680 1006MHz 2GB PCI-Express 3.0 HDMI
-Corsair 750 Watt Pro Series Gold AX750
-Samsung 128GB 830 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" Solid State Drive Desktop Kit
-Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 XMS3 2000Mhz DIMM CL9 1.65V
-Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Socket LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775, AM3, AM2+, AM2 CPU Cooler
-Samsung 12x BD-ROM/DVDRW Lightscribe SATA Retail

If you can see any weak links that you think I could improve upon please point them out. I am looking to order everything by tomorrow, so I would be grateful for some quick replies.

Kind regards

I'd rather go for the z77 as I've heard they are more future proof. Would it be worth going for the z77 deluxe instead?

Just to be sure, would the Noctua fit all of the newly released motherboards?

Just to add, I will only be using one graphics card in this, never going over 2, so I'm thinking that I really don't need anything more than the Maximus V Gene. And see that it's been getting rave reviews from what I've read, would I really need to go for a full ATX board?

Why would you sink this much money in a new build including a Z77 board (Panther Point chipset) meant for an Ivy Bridge cpu and get a SB 2500K? Especially when you replied to one poster on this thread about "future proof". There is nothing "future proof" with the SB cpu's. In three weeks they are going to be yesterdays news.

If you read my first post, I said that I am looking to upgrade the CPU as soon as the new IB proc. is released. The thing is, I really need a rig now and cannot wait until the end of the month, so I will be using the 2500k for now and then selling it for a 3570k.

I've decided to go for the AX850 instead.

Everything is in the basket, has anyone got any problems with the build before I complete payment?

Cheers
