Going to overclock this IVY Brige to 6.0 GHZ. I will be buying these items after summer, because I know that motherboard and CPU will be sold out in no time. IVY bridge comes out April 29th. What do you rate this rig? :D

More about what rate 1700
  1. This will be for gaming, steam, sony vegas. Sorry forgot to mention that.
  2. i5-3570K will be better.

No need for H100, if you are paying 100$ get Noctua D14, or the new 812 TPC by Cooler Master. No need for RAM cooler either!.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821 Motherboard, you do not need a 340$ motherboard.

With those savings, you should now be able to get a GTX 680. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130768
  3. Also, no need for 850W with one card.

750W should be MORE than enough, even if you SLI.

  4. I dont like the bulky CPU coolers. I have an H100 cooler in my rig right now and it gets to 30c on load. That motherboard only supports 2 graphics cards? 850 watt is same price as the 750 watt.
  5. Allright, it's your choice.

But on the motherboard, there are 3 slots, but you really do not need more than 2 way SLI. Why? 2x 680's will smash almost everything, after the second card, the diminishing marginal returns are astronomical.

Really, in the end, it's YOUR system, so you can put whatever components you want in it.
  6. What is the highest the I5 3570k can overclock to before it is unstable? I heard the 3770k can get pass 6ghz with good cooling.
  7. Eh... Ivy Bridge won't overclock much better than Sandy did. At least that's what I've heard. Therefore, the 3570k should get 5ghz with good cooling, and the 3770k can probably get 5.2.
