hi

i am a little confused about router prtocols.

i want to buy a new router but am unsure about which protocols are important.

one says it has tcp/ip but not dhcp, another has dhcp but not tcp/ip.

how important are the protocols the routers come with and does it really matter which comes with what i buy?

thanks

All home routers have tcp/ip support as that is the basic protocol for all networks. All home routers also have DHCP servers.

Anything you pick up in a local store claiming to be a Router will be fine.

Stick with Linksys brand and you'll be fine too. They're all very easy to work with now, but Linksys is a brand that you'll find everywhere.

Is this for home use or business use?

can you give links to the routers you are talking about?
