Hi all,

I'm finally building a HTPC and would like to know what you think. I hope I chose well as the parts are either here or en route.

i3 2100
MB ASROCK|H67M-ITX/HT H67 LGA1155 R
VGA PNY|VCGGT4301XPB GT430 R
MEM 4Gx2|G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL
A little old Coolmaster case w/300 psu
a dvd multi writer from a laptop stuck in a usb enclosure
and a Thermaltake Slim X3 cpu heat sink and fan

I was thinking I might OC a little but don't know yet. I'm not sure it's even possible with the i3 2100.

So what do you think?

Thanks

You shouldn't need to overclock... HTPC's don't seem to require MUCH in the way of CPU. It's all SSD/HDD. Most people like an SSD OS Drive, so that the menu's and OS is responsive.

Thanks for your replies.

I just grabbed the case w/psu cause it was cheap. I know I'll end up getting a new psu soon.

APU?

I also have 2 - 500gb seagate hybrid 2.5" 7200 rpm notebook drives I'll be using until I get the $$$ for a SSD then they'll be storage.

I was thinking of OCing just for some light gaming.

Ok after a little more research I guess OCing an i3 just isn't possible. Is that right?
