I am looking to build a new rig and Newegg offers the following combo:

Intel i7-2600k $319.99
ASUS P68Z68-V Pro/Gen3 $209.99
Corsair Enthusiast TX750W V2 80Plus Bronze Certified $104.99
Rosewill THOR V2-White ATX Full Tower Case $139.99
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 8GB(2x4GB) $49.99

What puzzles me is that ASUS P8Z77-V LE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 is selling for $164.99. Should I get the cheaper newer Z77 board instead of the Z68?

Thanks in advance for the help.

yes i to notice the same thing

remember they said that they are gonna drive the prices of motherboard by 10%

also z77 will be better especially asrock ones.

like the asrock z77 extreme4 is 139 and the z68 on is around 189 and out of stock in newegg.

also the extreme6 is as much as z68 extreme4 :O

so the mater of fact it just added to why you should buy z77 instead of z68.

Thanks for the recommendations. The reason I want Z77 is it has more USB 3.0, faster eSata. What troubles me is the price. $40 difference is quite big to me, especially when newer model is cheaper than the older model. Is it worth it to spend the extra? It's like deciding to buy low end Lexus or the fully equipped high end Camry, and the Lexus is cheaper than the Camry, lol. It drives me nuts.
