Windows xp professional. Have all audio drivers installed but says no sound card installed. Anything I can do?

Check your BIOS and see if sound card is enabled.

Enter BIOS on boot up, usually del(ete) key but OEM's like Dell, HP call it setup and often F2 key.

Check BIOS. Reads Onboard audio controller- Enabled. Is that what you meant?

Yes, next thing to check is your device manager for yellow exclamation marks and sound settings in control panel.

Even found external speakers from older computer and plugged them in and still no sound...

Audio drivers are installed and up to date. recently purchased Driver Max to do this. I go to control panel audio/audio/sound playback devices, says no playback devices. Next sound recording devices, says same thing. Also with Midi music. Tried device manager and no yellow marks...
