My DVD rom does not work!!

I recently have installed a new DVD combo rom to my computer and the problem is that it is not working what should i do? I have checked and DVD rom is correctly installed or attached. The rom also does not show on Device Manager.
What should do? Please help me!!!!

OS type + version
DVD/CD drive

dvd drives are usually plug and play, It should atleast open and close even without the driver. If you are sure that you plugged the data cable and power cable correctly and it still doesn't work get an RMA.
