AMD Radeon 6670, whats the difference?

Hey guys,

I was looking online for an AMD Radeon 6670 as this is what was reccomended for me. But I found a couple of different cards all claiming to be an AMD Radeon 6670. Im guessing that they are a different manufacturer using AMD's Chipset (I may be wrong).

What I want to know is, what is the difference between these cards, for example i found a VTX3D VX6670 2GBK3-H AMD Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card and an Asus AMD Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card. The Asus brand card is £20 more than the other brand and also has less RAM. So are these cards very similar or is there a big difference? Would I be just be paying £20 for the brand or is the Asus card better?

Thanks in Advance :)

the Asus has ddr5 ram and the other one probably has ddr3 ram. The asus will be faster. you will also never be able to use all the ram in either cards so having 2gb is just messed up.

GDDR5>DDR3 GDDR5 is faster, plain and simple.

Yea I understand that. But how much faster is GDDR5 ram than DDR3? Is it a minimal difference or a huge difference? Is it worth paying £20 more for this upgrade?

The 2 GB model listed seems sketchy, hard to find information on it, go with the 1 GB model, you will never need more than 2 gigs of ram for that card, and I could at least find clock speeds on the 1GB model.

Hell yes. for a 20 euro difference, its a must. GDDR5 is made for 3D.

If you read a little further down, the VTX3D also claims to run DDR5 RAM and should be comparable in performance to the ASUS.

And yes, GDDR5 will give you quite a performance boost over GDDR3; think twice the bandwidth.
