Hello,

I have to get a new cooler for a computer.

But I'm not sure which one of these two I should get,

Asetek 550LC or the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

Both are the same price, the 550 is liquid cooled while the 212 is air-cooled.

If I order the 550 it will be pre-filled with liquid and this worries me as I'm afraid it'll leak all over my other computer parts that I'll be ordering with it, damaging them.

Also I haven't really heard of Asetek before while I've definitely heard of CM.

What do you guys think?

-James

yea, the 212 EVO is a nice choice,

The next step up from that cooler (staying smallish in size and price) = Thermolab's Trinity

This link gives a nice idea of what to expect from most current coolers - fans on High
FrostyTech CPU Cooler Comparison

I would add that each review could be "slightly" different - luck of the draw, better seated or better base for the test that day etc
and also if you want to try for the limits of overclocking with higher than normal overclocking volts - then choose a Good cooler...
have a look at this:

Hi guys.

I'm thinking of going for a completely different approach and spending a little extra money on the corsair H60.

It's reputable, liquid cooled and just seems like a good choice.

What do you guys think?

By the way, for the previous question of what RAM I have, I pack 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance.

yeah, I am still running their 1st generation Hyper 212 and the newer Plus and EVO are just so much of an improvement on that. Feels nice that CoolerMaster did not stiff us over on the price with their nice product :)
