hi , i overclocked i7 3770k to 4.7 ghz with uefi bios in my sabertooth z77 easily but the only problem is that when i opened
cpu id sometimes the cpu core is : 1.6 ghz and sometimes it goes to 4.7ghz . please help
This most likely isn't a bug, but rather a feature. Intel calls it Speedstep
, and AMD calls it Cool N' Quiet
, but the affect is the same. When idle for a set period of time, the CPU will lower its clock setting to reduce its power draw. So your CPU might register at a significantly lower clock speed, but as soon as there is work to do, it bumps back up to its original clock setting. You can turn this feature off in the uefi settings.
