Looking to build a powerful gaming rig (2012)

Hello,
I'm looking to build the best gaming machine I possibly can with a 1000$ budget. I'm wanting it to be able to run modern games on the highest graphics. (And in one case, a HEAVILY modded Skyrim) I have a good laptop that will run these modern games but its starting to get old. So I need a new one (A new desktop that is) . But yes I need everything except for a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers. I also already have an OS so I do not need that. (And how much would a wireless chip cost?) (I would prefer Nvidia graphics cards and Intel processors but it doesn't matter as long as its name brand.)

Thanks for your time.

Resolution: 1600x1200
Country: USA
Purchase Date: Within a month

But Tiger.Direct or Newegg or something for the website...

The rest I believe I have already said or otherwise do not care about. But on the overclocking subject, sure I want it to run new games (Like Skyrim) on the highest possible graphics. Without any sort of lag. So sure. I just want the best for my money, period.

And I'm building it at home so I need the prices for individual parts and what-not.

corsair cx500 80plus certified =psu 59.99>39.99 after rebate
antec 300 =case 69.99
evga gtx560ti =gpu (make use of the step up program)

at your resolution this should perform well. I didn't put amd gpu since most of them at your budget is out of stock, and well you did write nvidia.

this should also let you OC

total should be 634.92$ if your getting the PLUS and that PSU and after rebate
you should still have 365.08$ extra for a GPU

you can also get the corsair tx650 V2 80plus bronze (half modular) for 89.99>74.99$ after rebate which would lessen your budget on the gpu for a bit

but it should be enough to get you a

gtx560ti 1gb/2gb nvidia or a sapphire hd 7850 amd gpu

prices are taken from newegg.com

if you live near a micorcenter go get most of your parts there, it should be cheaper

Thank you both! I don't understand half of that. Haha... I haven't kept up with computer specs since the mid 90's. But will both of these run Skyrim on Ultra graphics with mods to further improve the graphics? I assume they will and thanks either way! I just want to make sure. Thanks.

well since you will be buying not so soon then go grab the ivy, but there should be some price drop on some sandy stuff, if price drop are 15-20$ each

processor and mobo = lets say 15$ then thats 30$ extra for budget if its 20$ thats 40$ extra on budget, which should help you out a lot. on buying other components or save up on an awesome gpu or soemthing

sapphire hd 7850 2gb should be able to run skyrim at ultra with mods and a i5 2500k

Actually... One last thing are the parts from the two lists that were provided interchangeable? And how would that effect performance? (Or are they about the same when it comes to power?)

Yes they are, but seeing how you don't plan on purchasing right away you have the chance to look at the benchmarks/reviews on the new Ivy Bridge cpu's when they come out. This site along with just about every site worth mentioning will do a review on that cpu. Ivy Bridge cpu + Z77 boards + new generation vid cards (AMD 7xxx & Nvidea gtx 6xx series cards) allow for PCI-E 3.0 which means double the bandwidth.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5626/ivy-bridge-preview-c... <---- this review was done with an engineer's version of that cpu along with a Z68 board which is geared towards the older Sandy Bridge cpu's and not the newer Ivy Bridge cpu's, but it gives you a general idea of what to look forward to.

Okay its been awhile but I have another question. How will those parts listed run if I get a monitor with a 1386x768 resolution do? Will they run about the same or what? Thanks.
