No audio from ATI Radeon HD4850

My set-up is the above soundcard with DVI output. I added a DVI to HDMI converter then to a Vizio flatscreen. No audio so I added a DVI plus audio to HDMI converter and still no audio. Any suggestions?

I too would like to know this as I can tell you I've tried HDMI>HDMI, and DVI>HDMI and so far no joy on getting any sound out of an HD4850. I'm starting to wonder if those cards are even capable of sound.
