Help Choosing ASUS Souncard

Hey guys,
I was looking for a soundcard last week, i got myself the Asus Xonar D2.
But i don't know if it was the best Asus soundcard to get for my purposes. The soundcard will be used for gaming the most, the rest comes later (music, movies etc.).
So i still have the opportunity to return it to the shop and exchange it since i didn't take it out of the box yet.

Just wanted to know if it is the best Asus soundcard i can get for gaming.
What about the Asus Xonar Phoebus? Any others?

My actual headset: Steelseries Siberia v2 ... Is the headset okay?? Will it fit well with the Asus Xonar soundcards?

Forgot to mention, the Asus Essence STX.
But my problem is that if the souncard is a PCI-E, my gpu won't run at x16 anymore when the souncard will be installed?? Both will be at x8.
So maybe my Xonar D2 isn't that bad?? Since it is a PCI.
