  1. What CPUs are you working with (which i3 and i5).

Your mobo supports these CPUs, apparently, - http://www.gigabyte.eu/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3952
  2. Exactly what model CPU did you try to put on that motherboard?
  3. the i3 is intel lga 1155)( and i5 intel -3570 lga 1155) is that what you mean
  4. It should work with your mobo, if you put the i3 back in does it work?
  5. yes it does
  6. Hmmm, how about if you take out the GPU (if you have one)and put in the i5 and run of the integrated and see if that works.
  7. with the i3 on the board update the motherboards bios. Your i5 is a newer generation if you dont have the latest Bios update it wont work
  8. The bios already on the board supports the ivy chips, according to gigabytes support page i posted before.
  9. yes i do have a gpu and no i havent pulled it out so i will try that
and i will up my bios and i will get back ot you
  10. ow and thanks for your help so far

No the Bios version F6 supports Ivybridge... how do you know the OP has F6?..... all the OP's symptoms indicate they dont have F6 and this is a Bios issue.
  12. ok so i will just try takeing out the gpu n yer

I thought that F6 comes standard with the board?

Maybe if you buy the board now but maybe not if it was bought earlier, even if you buy one now it may be old stock with an older BIOS version. 1st thing to try before adding a new CPU to any motherboard is to update the BIOS it takes a few minutes and means its 1 thing you can then rule out as an issue if things go wrong
  15. wr6133 ok looked at my bios and it is( F1) so now what can i update this ??? or what
  16. download it as jay said or look in the gigabyte folder on your start menu there should be a program called @BIOS use this to do it.
  17. thanks guys for a second there i was thinking i was in real deep crap back soon
  18. hay guys sorry its taking me so long to get back to you ... but now i have updated to F6 do you think it will run or is there some thing els i have to do???
  19. Test to see if the i5 works.
  20. it should now work with the i5
  21. thanks guys do you think i should still take out the GPU befor i start it ???
  22. No, it should work fine with the GPU.
  23. Couldnt hurt
