Hello all, I have this video card

XFX GeForce 6200 Video Card - 256MB DDR2, AGP 8x, DVI, VGA, TV Out, Video Card

http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1776106&CatId=935

and this mobo

GA-8I848P-G

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=1769&dl=1#ov

The problem I'm having is the card installs fine and boot into windows but then the computer reboots and I get no video.

PSU is APEVIA ATX-CW420W 420W ATX12V Power Supply - OEM

Please help.

Thank you in advance

1) do you know for sure that the video card works in the first place? (does it show the POST and Windows loading process? Or is it blank the whole way through)

2) are you sure that the video cable is good?

I have ~4-5 of those exact same video cards that I use for testing systems from time to time. They are great cheap cards, and I have never had a problem with them in either XP or 7. Being as simple of a card as they are, if it is not working then I would bet that the card is at fault, not the computer. There is simply not much on them that can go wrong.

Sounds like a driver issue to me if the Windows loading screen shows up. Your PSU is kinda shady since it has no PFC at all and still has the red voltage switch, but it doesn't sound like a PSU problem at all.

Try booting into Safe Mode and updating the GPU drivers. In safe mode it should just boot up default VGA driver.
