I have an ATX tower case that was bought about 9-10 years ago. It's never been used...a planned build that never happened. Is it worth using for a new budget build?

It's got a floppy disk access in the front end. A cheap 300 watt (over rated...15 amps +12 volt) power supply....would have to be replaced for a quality unit. It's got an ATX motherboard cover plate for a parallel port, serial ports, etc. New cover plate would be required...do they come with motherboards these days?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

If you want to give it a shot for using it in a new build then you could go ahead and try with the knowledge that it may or may not work and you would have to get a newer one.
If your refering to the back I/O panel where the usb and sound ports are then yes they do come with the motherboard. The 300w psu is very low and you would be better off getting a higher watts one and it would depend on the build as to what watts you should get.
