hey all,

With all the talk of Forza lately, I've been wanting to get into a driving
game, but I'm not a fan of driving sim games at all (tried the Forza demo,
didn't even make it through the first race before I got annoyed and stopped
playing). On the other hand I do enjoy arcade racers, and the Midnight Club
3 commercials that they've been constantly playing has gotten me interested,
plus its made by rockstar so I'm assuming its more of an arcade style game.
Can anyone confirm?, any comments on the game?

TIA

MC3 is certainly more of arcade racer. It got pretty good reviews also.
I am sure it is more forgiving than Forza, but it doesn't mean that
you'll never have to use the break pedal at all. ;) If unsure you
should probably rent before you buy, but between Forza and MC3 you are
most likely to enjoy MC3.

MC3 is a very good game.....
better than both mc1 and mc2
Lots of arcade action and not as annoying
as MC2 was....
You won't be disappointed..
That being said I love Forza too but totalling
different game being a simulator

I have MC3 and I think that it's a great racer. It's definitely an arcade
racer but it has some upgrade options. I love the fact that you can just
tell your mechanic to auto-upgrade and it will outfit your ride with all
that you have cash for and available parts (gotta do some unlocking
people...). The paint schemes and availability of outer customization are
VERY good. I recommend it (also on XBL playable)

It is arcade style racer, and a really solid one at that. But I did
get strangely bored once I unlocked the second city. Seems like race
difficulty from that point is just done by making races tediously
long, so it's more about sheer endurance than how you race. It was
great for the first ten hours or so though. Worth a rental at least.

Thanks for all the info guys, looks like I may pick this one up. How is the
Live! community for this?, people still playing?, any cheating going on?

Not like the Forza cheating. Have you seen all the people exploiting that
money glitch. I have played MC3 when there is NO ONE on at all and it is
pretty disheartening. It is a fun game and I spent a heck of a lot of time
unlocking cars only to see everyone on my Friends List playing Forza when I
was looking for a CTF or something. Maybe that will change with the online
Forza cheating that is becoming prevalent.
