AFAIK you can't.
BTW anyone else have the bug I seem to have, where sometimes it auto
answers and sometimes it doesn't..? It seems totally random..!

You can with standard GSM */# codes.
*61*[+full number including country code/area code/voicemail
number]*11*30# will forward to voicemail after 30 seconds e.g.
*61*+4479507XXXXX*11*30# diverts to voicemail.
Delay can be varied between five and thirty seconds.

Is this the same as the delay before auto-answer..? The OP wanted to know
how to alter the delay before the phone answers when in a car kit, which
doesn't seem the same thing as altering the delay before voicemail divert.

I've had the fail-to-answer bug too. I also sometimes find the handsfree
doesn't always kick-in when the phone is placed in the cradle, I have to
release it and then reinsert it several times.
