Faceplate of networking

If you're in the UK and you're talking about removing the faceplate from a BT telephone connection box to test using the Engineers' socket behind it, simply take out the only two screws you can see from the front and gently ease the faceplate off the box.

Plugging your telephone or router leads into that Engineers' socket eliminates all your internal wiring so if things work in there that didn't work before, you have wiring prioblems.

CAUION - BT will charge you £139 for a visit to fix those so look in your local newspaper ads for someone who can do it more cheaply and probably better.
