Single 7950 or dual 6950s or some other one[on current specs]

Getting a new Pc in about 2 weeks decided on everything but the gpu current specs:
CM Storm enforcer
i5 2500K
Asus maximus IV Z68
750W PSU
Crucial M4 64gb
seagate 1tb 7200rpm

Max i can go for the GPU is 550$$For the GPU im thinking

What card should i get? Also will pcie 2.0/2.1 fit into the 3.0s the maximus has?

Which PSU at 750 Watt are you planning to buy? The Setup looks cool, but don't safe money on PSU, cause it will blow up your card/cards...

But right now I would say Single 7950. Then you will be able to take another one later on, if needed. Instead of replacing both cards.
