I am trying to scan and send it to my computer for printing in newsletter. It scans ok but I have no idea how to save it to the computer.

That would depend on what scanner and software of the thousands that are on the market. Download a user manual for your scanner.

It will usually put them into a folder in your My Pictures directory or in your My Documents directory.
