Dead psu?

Hi there,

Any help with this guys?
I have my case and psu, I plugged in the case fans to the psu and plugged it in. nothing happens? should it? or do I have a dead psu?

It's a coolermaster gx650, I switched the switch on yeah. Nothing happens?

The PSU needs to be plugged into a motherboard with a CPU in it to be able to be switched on and work normally.

Cool, so it wouldn't power the fans directly then?

Nope, not without being connected to a board first.

You CAN do the "paperclip trick" to "fool" it into working, but I can't really recommend it and you'll have to do it at your own risk. http://aphnetworks.com/lounge/turn_on_psu_without_motherboard_the_paperclip_trick

yeah that does look a bit risky, can't be doing with being eletrictuted!
