I remember someon mentioning this. Has anyone tried this on a HDTV
monitor (not a monitor) and noticed better picture? Also, someone
mentioned one like this but for DVI. What's the link and has anyone
tried that one either?

Thanks in advance.

I've purchased one, but it has not yet arrived. Nonetheless, you do not
need, nor can you use, this device with an HDTV. You need only get the
xbox hi-definition AV pack and plug directly into your HDTV.

Is this the one you're talking about?

no, but have you tried it?

there's this one I spoke of:
http://www.x2vga.com/

and I thought there was a DVI interface one too.

I'm thinking they're still not true digital because of a conversion in
the xbox interface, but wanted to hear opinions of users.

No, I haven't. The x2vga convinced me with all of that business them
being the only ones that make some attempt to handle 480i output. Also,
the price is about the same when factoring in a hi-def cable for the
other one.

The VGA signal is digital -- discrete values for each pixel -- or is
that what you're talking about?

right. What I meant by that was the other portion of the interface (not
VGA) but whatever the interface standard is that leads into the xbox. I
was thinking there was analog conversion (at that point of entering the
xbox). I have no idea, but assumed as much because OEM conversion packs
are component video as the pinnacle which we know is not digital but
modulated to analog signal.
