I connected ethernet cable to ps3 but it does not detect

Hello,
i acces internet on my pc using tata photon+ mobile broadband service,my problem is that i bought a ps3 and want to share internet connection with pc using ethernet cable via lan modem, for this i connected ps3 and pc using ethernet cable,i go to custom and wired setting of ps3 but my ps3 keep saying 'connect ethernet cable'.please help!!!
