$500 gaming set up, need your opinion

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, video conversion, editing

Parts Not Required: Hdd, videocard, keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

Overclocking: no
SLI: no

i will be getting core i5 2400 for $190

still have $310 budget for the ff:
MOBO?? (100$ max)
RAM?? (only need 4GB)
CASE & PSU??
dvd writter??

    you don't need any fancy MB since you can't OC a i5 2400. this one has usb 3.0 and SATA 6G. I picked out a solid gaming case and a good modular PSU that will handle a good size GPU. memory - just the basics - can't OC that either.

    if you think you want some future upgrade options or want to use virtu do video, then a z68 MB and maybe some PC 1600 ram would be better.

    You want to dump as much money as possible into the gpu. You cant call a computer with an HD 6450 a "gaming" machine.
    Go with a cheap CPU, like an i3 or phenom 2, and get a better card.
  3. I think you all miss the part where the OP already has a video card. that's why my build doesn't include one. it would be nice to know what type of GPU the OP has though.
