I think they are awesome.....

What other companies produce good fans and which ones are your favourite?

if you can put up with the amount of noise those things put out then they are amazing

other than that i nominate noctua for the best fans

All i know is PFB1212UHE-F00 Delta is amazing! should come with Ear Plugs and a hazard warning when in operation.

Didn't even know as the computer was always cool.
Now i use that fan on full to cool my xbox (have it opened as original fans and voltage regulator for them failed), its loud as hell (compared to a 120mm akasa fan) but cools the GPU down alot..

Nooo, one of my fan blades came off (knocked it against my nail), well, that fans in retirement (or in 'fan hospital), guess i have to find a equivelent...

I like 120mm x 25mm Yate Loon D12SL-12 fans. Decently quiet when running at full speed and pushes a good volume of air (~ 40 CFM). I use resistors to drop the voltage down to 7v and the fans are very quiet. They are also pretty inexpensive $4 or $5 if you can find them on sale, otherwise they typically sell for $6 - $7.

Have you heard of Nexus fans? They basically cherry pick batches of really quiet Yate Loon D12SL-12 fans slap on the name Nexus and charge more than 2x the price.

Sounds a little like Apple, my step dad has a 17" Macbook pro, his cost £2100 my laptop cost £350, the main difference i see is that i have a i3 2310m and he has a i7 something and some ATI card....
Rest is 4GB RAM and a 750GB hard drive, exactly the same as mine...

i feel apple lost alot of their shine when they switched to intel, now there really just glorified PC's with shiny stickers lol
