1) You have a "floppy" connector on the motherboard. Most of todays don't. My (2011) Asus P8Z68-V doesn't, my (2008) Asus P6T does.
2) maybe via an internal USB port, but that would be the same as plugging in a USB floppy to the front panel. Have you tried plugging in a USB floppy to one of the back panel USB ports?
