I upgraded from 21 ich to 32 inch monitor but my Radeon 6950 still only detects 1920 x 1080 resoultion. There's no 2560 x 1600 in catalyst control center or the hp adjust resolution tab.

I'm using a Sony Bravia KDL 32S2000 monitor in combination with my Radeon 6950 which has a max resolution of 2560 x 1600 however, my Sony Monitor is only showing 1920 x 1080 and below. I checked Catalyst Control Center and the HP display settings but can't find a option for 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Always do the research first and never shop on an empty stomach or when tired.

I'm not sure but here's the make and model of my monitor "Sony Bravia KDL-32S2000". Do I need to use dual DVI to be able to go above 1920 x 1080 resolution?

Erma... thats a TV not a monitor. at least according to Google. with a Max resolution of 1366 x 768. a 6950 is way overpowered for that res. 1920 x 1080 will look bad on it because the TV can't display it. that's really a horrible choice for a monitor as no matter what you do it will look horrible sitting at computer distance.

you might have to update your CCC driver to the latest version 13.9 it is, hope this helps detect 2560x1600

or you might have to go into the CCC settings itself and go to VGA display settings, untick EDID box and set the maximum resolution higher

ps if your graphics card cant support that resolution the screen will turn black and the tv will switch itself of as a power precaution...if that happens...press Esc and it will return back to the way it was before...hope this helps you and helps me too because im getting a 32" too and need to know if the maximum resolution for the 32 inch tv works too

the card i got is Radeon 7750 with the 13.9 driver so if it works, ill keep you informed

plus i found out that the max resolution of 1366 x 768 is not the maximum for a 32"...its the maximum for a 29"
