I have the choice of returning my ASUS GeForce GTX 590 3GB and swapping it out for store credit, I could then buy a Gigabyte Radeon HD7970 Overclocked 3GB. A lot of people have been telling me to buy this instead, because it's apparently as powerful, uses less power and produces less heat.

My 590 will arrive today, what should I do? :(

Solution
The 7970 is the better choice simply because it doesn't deal with SLI so driver support in games will be better and you will be able to add a second one in there for better performance over having 2 590s.

I'd return the 590 and get something else even if its not the 7970.
