How to remove a pre installed OS

I want to remove a pre installed windows 7 completely ie format the drive and then install a clean copy of XP.

Step 1. Get your XP disc
Step 2. Have XP format your HD and do a clean Install
Step 3. ???
Step 4. Profit
If your computer is new, especially since it came with Win7 pre-installed, you may have to get all of your driver discs ready for WinXP and make sure all of your hardware has WinXP drivers.

You forgot step 5.
Step 5. End up with an inferior Operating System.
