Computer comparison

Hello, Everyone. Im just getting into the world of computers. Im in NT1110 right now. So im not ready to build my own computer yet. So I found two computers that I think will suit my minor gaming needs.

1: Has a Intel Core i7-2600 3.4 GHz quad-core and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 and is $609

2: Has a Intel Core i5-2400 3.1 GHz quad-core and a Radeon HD 7450 Wombat and is $520

So should I spend the extra 89 bucks for the better processor or no?

I agree. But if you plan on video editing that is a different story....

Yep, i7 will be faster in video editing mainly because of Hyperthreading....

@rjackowens - I do minor video editing, mainly on like Windows movie maker, but ive been messing with Adobe Premiere

for minor gaming needs the i5-2400 will be better than the i7-2600 because the hyperthreading of the i7 will not help in gaming and the 7450 is a better graphics card than the gt 520.

If you game more than video editing then it would be best to go with the i5, but if you do equal amounts of each then the i7 will be handy...

not when you can spend the extra money on a better graphic card.
