Hello! A friend of mine has asked me to help build a Gaming and Video editing PC in the near future. I have done some work on gaming PCs, but with video editing, I admit im a bit out of place. I was thinking that maybe I should go with a top end processor, 16g of ram, and a decent video card. We are looking at a budge of PC parts (minus monitor, keyboard, mouse) to be under $1,000.

Are there any suggestions for where/what I should look at specifically or differently from a good gaming PC?

Thanks in advance, you guys are always top rate!

I think a non OC i5 2400, 8GB of ddr3 1600 and a 560Ti will more than meet your needs, or at least for <1000.
