Hi guys, i'm trying to gather a new GPU for my sistem -i5 2500k, GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, RAM 8GB 1600mhz- and i have two main options... i can't take the 6950 'cause the price scape from my budget... what's the difference between the 6850 and the 6870? And what about the Vapor-X editions? What change with them? General recommendation? TY!

IMO you should get the 6870 over the 6850 if you can afford it but the 6950 totaly worth it if you can wait a little lounger to get more money.

If you can't get the extra $, then go for the 6870 thats what my bro just this last week and he is pleased (he couldn't afford the 6950 either)

for vapor x edition the vapor x card performs better in overclocking and they are cool and quite but it will be better to get an twinfrozr hd 6870.

yes sapphire vapor x will be also good for cheaper price and good performance but both will be good twinfrozr and vapor x.

but for me i'd go with twinfrozr iii in other words hawk its all up to you which ever you want.

The 69x 2gb series wouldn't be too much to handle for the i5 2500k? If i wait for the next 7000s i think they price wiil be high?

I'm thinking of the Sapphire Vapor-X 6870 would that be a nice pick? or i'd better grab the 5870? Is still the Sapphire HD 6850 a nice card to play quite good all the games and work with editing hd? not high-end, but something that has good reputation?

hd 6870 is one of the best performer for its price and games in higher resolution like eg 1080p so no need to go below or for older tech hd 6870 will be the best choice.:)
